After the success of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon Michael Bay decided to break briefly from Transformers project and return to the small projects that reflect the beginning of his career. That's why he decided to film Pain and Gain, starring Mark Wahlberg and The duet Rock last year. After a refreshing moment with such a small project, Michael Bay finally went back to the Transformers franchise, Mark Wahlberg hook participate replace Shia LaBeouf. Not only LaBeouf who resigned from the project, the whole Michael Bay really want to introduce the human characters to make the franchise's new re-fresh. Is his attempt successful?
Almost the same as the duration of time between the third and fourth films, Transformers: Age of Extinction was set in four to five years after the climactic battle at the end of the third film which is now called The Battle of Chicago. After this war the American government took a different view of the Autobots and Decepticons. They positioned them as an alien race of robots that are considered harmful to the earth's war. The remaining Autobots hiding hunted by humans are allied with the new Transformers called Lockdown. Optimus Prime himself was seriously injured and is found in the form of his truck by a robot creator from Texas: Cade Yeager.
Cade with his daughter Tessa caught hiding Optimus Prime and start being hunted by the United States government under the leadership of Harold James Attinger and Savoy. Not known by Cade, Tessa, and the other Autobots are Attinger actually working with companies that want to have the MSG industry metamoforsis technology of the Transformers robots for themselves (in order to get profit as much as possible). Please Click here
I was quite surprised to see this movie has an official budget 'only' a 165 million USD whereas the duration of the film broadcast reaches nearly three hours. And what else do you ekspektasikan of the film by Michael Bay? Of course: the explosion. I remember that in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Michael Bay Transformers movie promises a different but the result was the same. Therefore when he (again) said that Transformers: Age of Extinction, supposedly positioned as the first film in the new trilogy, the Transformers darker, I no longer believe in that simple words.
In reality though Transformers: Age of Extinction does have a slightly darker tone than its predecessor, it is still the movie Transformers as we know it first. Mark Wahlberg who replaces Shia LaBeouf here is the right choice for the character of Sam is already exhausted exhumed from three previous Transformers movies. Cade insert here unfortunately does not give a new breath for this film because his character is fairly flat course. Worse two young children in this film: Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor both performed poorly and boring. It hurt for Peltz because she is not as sweet as sexy as Megan Fox or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made her acting increasingly uncovered weaknesses. The same money with Jack Reynor that figure here drab, ngesok, and annoying.
You could say of many human characters that exist only interest is Joshua Joyce, played by Stanley Tucci appropriately. Tucci is one of the most underrated actors follows and he once again showed his ability to perform in any capacity in this film, be it a role or roles seriously funny. Some Chinese artists such as Li Bing Bing and cameo-Hong Kong superstar cameo others also appear here, but more as eye candy and a pleasant surprise for the audience East Asia.
Paramount is not stupid. They know that the movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon get 20% more of their revenue from East Asian countries such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea that this film provides a lot of servings in the country. For instance filming is pretty much taking portion in China and Hong Kong while from the ranks of the new Autobots introduced Drift, an Autobot's voice filled by Ken Watanabe. For the South Korean public is present boysband a member of Super Junior in a cameo capacity ... So complete. Michael Bay is so obsessed in meeting the public's appetite there, sometimes I think that he prostituting a quarter share.
But that's Michael Bay. Although he had to prostitute this franchise to fulfill their taste it does so with style. Transformers: Age of Extinction may be a little slow in the beginning because the scenario of Ehren Kruger must first introduce Yeager family but entered the mid to the end, Bay kept pounding the audience with a powerful barrage of action scenes. For the first time shooting a Bay also scenes in this film using IMAX 3D cameras so that the result is outstanding image sharp and cool 3D visualization throughout the film. If there are movies that beg to be watched in 3D IMAX format, this film was. Some people may be tired of the Michael Bay-style action choreography but I personally still impressed with it. Yet have no break for me for three years before the film was released and there is rarely a director who is able to work on Michael Bay skillful action.
So my conclusion is ... apart from the human characters and the new robot, no different from the Transformers: Age of Extinction than previous entries. If you want to watch a badass Optimus Prime, the screen displays an explosion every few minutes or so, accompanied by frenetic music from Steve Jablonsky, be sure not to miss the most hectic summer movies this year
