What is the
biggest event all year for a nerd? This clearly is not the Oscars or Grammys or
Emmys. Not even the E3 or TGS. Each event is only to celebrate certain hobbies
in the world of a nerd like movies or TV series or game. If you really want to
celebrate your identity as a nerd / geek, really want to know all the latest
information about the latest season of your favorite TV series, what game will
be launched next, until the conference meeting with a movie star and then your
favorite comic writer place of course is: Comic-Con!
While there are
many conventions Comic-Con in the world's most popular in the world today is
the San Diego Comic-Con International in which all the geeks from around the
world flocked to it. For those of you who still have not had the opportunity to
come to Comic-Con, a documentary film produced by Joss Whedon and Stan Lee and
directed by Morgan Spurlock's Comic-Con lifted from the viewpoint of the four
groups were followed with a variety of different purposes.
The first group
is Eric and Skip. They both are comic illustrator who now works as a soldier
and a bartender. Both hope that someday they can actively work in the world of
comics along with major publishers such as Marvel and DC. And they are not just
two people who want to work in this industry. There are dozens or even hundreds
of artists who bring their portfolio to Comic-Con just to ask for advice,
opinions, and even criticism from the senior artists.
The second group
is a cosplayer group led by Holly Conrad. Holly and his group want to follow
the race Cosplay (Masquerade) at the Comic Con and his crew created along with
all the characters in Mass Effect 2 One of the most impressive achievements is
working Krogan head (one of the co-Shepherd who is an alien race) with design
animatronics. All the preparation is done for months with no small cost - but
was it enough to win the competition Masquerade?
The third group
is James who is dating fellow nerd named Se Young. Since the first meeting and
felt good to each other due to the same hobby both direct dating. James is now ready
to take the relationship to the next stage. He wants to apply for Se Young. No
kidding he wants to apply for Se Young in front of a panel in Hall H panel
which is the largest and grandest in the entire Comic-Con!
Last is the
fourth group of Chuck Rozanski who have Mile High Comic - as well as a
representation of the change of identity (identity crisis?) From Comic-Con
recently. Without realizing this convention has been turned into a comic and
not just the comic reader coming together but it has become a place where all
the pop culture mixed into one. While this increased the popularity of
Comic-Con as the festival itself, what it means for the attraction which was
once the main attraction: the comic itself?
Beyond these
four segments Spurlock also knit with a lot of people talk about how the comic
industry that they will love this nerd world. There was Frank Miller, Joss
Whedon, Guillermo del Toro, Stan Lee, Eli Roth, Kevin Smith, and more - much
more comic writers, actors, directors admit to how much they love this world:
comics, board games, TV series, anime , video games, and established themselves
today. And when I think about it again ... is not that remarkable. They are the
ones who shape our industry today: the geek / nerd like me!
Unfortunately as
Morgan Spurlock documentary playing too safe so Comic-Con Episode IV (non-geek
note: not actually the fourth episode - the title is a parody of Star Wars)
minimal practical critics. One of the things that is actually very interesting
to be appointed is a shift in the identity of the Comic-Con raised in the story
of Chuck Rozanski this issue but quickly abandoned by Spurlock to return to
play in areas that are 'safe' course.
