Watch The Trailers
The first film
from Spike Jonze I watch is the adaptation of the Maurice Sendak story: Where
the Wild Things Are and I do not like. Did not like. Therefore I am a bit
pessimistic in watching Her. It is interesting to see Jonze explore the concept
of how a man falls in love with the Operating System (computer) but it is
actually not a new concept. I was first to recognize this concept over the past
decade Clamp manga written by: Chobits. If want to gain a little bit further
films about artificial intelligence that relate to human beings is not a new
theme. Remember the A.I.dari Steven Spielberg movie? Or even Terminator 2:
Judgment Day from James Cameron? After all, as I am interested to see how this
movie get an award and critic praises, I became interested in trying out Her.Joaquin Phoenix in the film acts as Theodore Twombly undergoing heavy phase in her life. He could lose his marriage, divorced by his wife Catherine. But Theo is very afraid of loneliness and the word 'divorce' refuses to sign the divorce papers with Catherine. It's all very ironic because Theodore works for sites that offer services to write letters of love relationship between the human being: Beautifulhandwrittenletters.com. In the midst of her loneliness was Theo decided to buy a new program that was popular: OS1.
OS1 is a system
that helps a person to run computer applications even interact with humans.
Think of it as that possessed by Apple's Siri now - but Siri is not ever
misunderstand what we say, even have a personality. OS1 owned by Theo calling
itself Samantha, and their working relationship began. At first Samantha Theo
uses only help it do its job but slowly he began to communicate with Sam to
help relieve his loneliness.
And from the
small talk conversation-their relationship into something much more complex
between a human and an OS. Can a man fall in love with something artificial?
Can something artificial ... lifeless ... soulless body ... not even ... fall
in love also to humans? This complex things thoroughly explored and explored by
the film Her.Please visit here
I really, truly
love nearly every single moment in Her. Her to me is not just a film about how
a man and a woman fall in love, but also how the complexity of relationships in
different stages. I can divide the relationship of Sam and Theo in three
stages: in the early stages Theo is an OS1 who do not understand the feelings
and just run the appropriate response to the implementation of the logic and
programming of the programmer ... but then the relationship between Theo and
Sam evolved as Sam's own figures also continued evolved.
What I like
about this movie is how Jonze continues to find viewpoints-a new angle to
explore this magical relationship. Her results are in the world really matured
and feels like a real world, not just our world OS1 elements are inserted in
it. Jonze courage to continue to introduce new elements even up to a few dozen
minutes the movie is not over it, too, that kept me guessing how the end of a
love story between Theo and Sam. Finally I believe will provoke debate from two
different camps and for myself this is a very bittersweet ending and even able
to make me ponder long after the ending credit rolling.
This film has a
lot of top class artists actors involved in them ranging from Olivia Wilde,
Rooney Mara, and Amy Adams but the real lives of the film is Joaquin Phoenix
and Scarlett Johansson. Both appear ... perfect. Chemistry of a lonely and
fragile Phoenix along with a voice that Johansson would be confused identity in
the world is expressed beautifully by both. Phoenix look very different and
vulnerable here. Coupled with the make-up that makes him look a geek I almost
did not recognize her here. The same money with Johansson. His role is no less
challenging because he had to express all feelings Samantha only through his
voice alone ... but she did it.
Believe do not
believe that the previous voice filled by artist Samantha Samantha Morton but
Spike Jonze eventually turn it into Scarlett Johansson. I never know how the
sound quality but Johansson Morton performed very nicely here. Despite the
first minute I had never thought of her voice finally a Scarlett Johansson
again but the voice of Samantha AI. Because inspiration from Samantha Johansson
also every moment with Theo runs flowed so smoothly. Her second belongs to this
person. Oh yes, there is one more key players who actually build the mood in
this film and it is a musical chant. They say music is the expression of the
heart and the window for Samantha and Theo, several times they tried to express
their feelings through the guitar and soft piano. Beautiful. Cradles.
So my conclusion
is ... for me personally lack of introduction of Her is a little too old to
make the duration of the film until two hours more. Had to cut about 15 minutes
of this movie may be perfect in my eyes. Even so I have to warn you that this
is the type of movie that is very divisive. If you are not sold with the
concept of someone who can fall in love with the sound of Her AI can be seen in
the eyes fool you. On the other hand if you believe that love can take a
variety of forms including a very strange though ... Her included in the
category of very strange.
