2 Guns - as the
name suggests - has two protagonists within Robert Trench and Michael Stigman.
Both are undercover agents working for dropping Papi Greco, a king of drug
cartels in Mexico there. Trench is a DEA agent and Stigman is an agent of US
Navy. Given both come from the side of the law they must work together for Papi
Greco dropped together instead? Not so fast drew that conclusion. What makes a
good 2 Trench Guns are exciting and equally Stigman not know if their
colleagues were a legal agent. Trench think that Stigman a petty criminal who
he approached to gain the sympathy of Papi Greco and vice versa.
Undercover
problem they turn into increasingly complex when a robbery goes wrong. Trench
and Stigman actually been marginalized by their respective agencies that will
inevitably have to work together to overcome the chaos. More unfortunately
again because both undercover it is very difficult to ask for backup. Can both
put aside differences in the nature of both? How to Papi Greco, could he have
been aware of the identity of both undercover and prepared an ambush to kill
both of them?
Graphic novel
written by Steven Grant and adapted by Blake Masters has a script that is
actually quite strong in the beginning. The most brilliant moments of 2 Guns
produced from banter between the two main characters. Both Denzel Washington
and Mark Wahlberg co-exist here with good chemistry. Differences with Chris
Pine and Ryan Reynolds appears to be a junior from Denzel Washington, Wahlberg
here given position commensurate with twice Oscar-winning actor it. Balthasar
director Komakur decision was not wrong because Wahlberg replied that trust
well. While Washington mastered the intense scenes and the emotional Wahlberg
also turn on the screen with funny behavior and laughter are crisp.
The lack of 2
Guns is the duration of the stretched film is too long. The fault lies in the
script itself. Once each Trench and Stigman already know each other's identity
each tension somehow became less good movies. The plot is actually simple feels
overextended too long with a little twist that makes no sense. Without giving
any spoilers I find it hard to believe that all the agencies in America is so
corrupt. Yes, not one or two but all of them. Additionally Komakur failed to
provide the climactic scene stomping action. There is a shootout here and there
but everything is standard and we have often seen in dozens of good action
movie on the big screen, DVD, and television. In other words: the film becomes
crisp and not saved with solid acting both main actor.
Outside of these
two famous actor actually 2 Guns also has a row of solid supporting cast which
unfortunately all failed to be utilized optimally. Paula Patton's eyes only
appeared as a momentary entertainment while James Marsden actually wasted here
appearance. The only actor who appeared trim only Bill Paxton who appeared
quite calculative and cruel but again because of a bad script it as antagonist
of trash at the end of the movie. Well, 2 Guns looks like it would direct the
spotlight entirely on the two main stars.
