Watch The Trailers
I love the
movies and my favorite on the political thriller genre was more profound after
watching the series Homeland. When idly watching Closed Circuit, starring Eric
Bana and Rebecca Hall I can not help but little remembered that my favorite
series. Is Closed Circuit which failed miserably at the box office just passed
unfairly by the audience because of poor release schedule? Or is it a movie
that has an interesting premise but failed to be developed so that the audience
chose to skip in the theater? It is a day that is mediocre in the city of London. Crowded market, a lot of people chattering casually, then ..
The explosion that killed
hundreds of people were made throughout the city - even the British
nationwide panic. Death and anger make angry mob and the police (who headed MI5
and MI6) to move quickly capture Farroukh Erdogan, a Turkish immigrant who is
considered to be blooded mastermind of the blast. Basis of arrest is a secret
that should not be intel released to the public because it feared could disrupt
operations of other secret intel. The problem now is whether or not the courts
to prove guilt Farroukh Erdogan. This court can not be done openly but must be
closed and silently (Closed Court).
In this trial
lawyer Martin and Claudia hired to be the defenders of Farroukh. However, because
the items of evidence for this court is sensitive goods then Martin and Claudia
forbidden to meet openly to discuss the evidence items. This is further
complicated by Martin and Claudia's relationship status that used to each
other's lover. The more Martin and Claudia dig Farroukh case, the more aware
they will be a political intrigue that houses this case and threaten their
lives.Please visit here
Early and Closed
Circuit premise is actually very nice and interesting. I really like the
appearance of the two main actors in this movie both Eric Bana and Rebecca
Hall, who appeared very convincing in their acting. I was grateful that every
time a story script about to bring us both in a romantic relationship, he
stopped so as not to burden the story. Similarly, the appearance of the stars
Ciaran Hinds and supporters especially Jim Broadbent. Broadbent in fact is a
total scene stealer every time he appears on screen. I rather regretted Julia
Stiles, who still can not get a weighty role in her career (perhaps back to the
TV world just miss Julia?).
But Closed
Circuit began losing entuciasm when entering the final third of the story. When
all had been opened when a twist of rational thought out the holes and the flaw
in the logic of the story began to unfold. Getting hurt again is due to the
start pacing alone accelerated the obvious plot hole plot-hole there,
disturbing the hard-hard realism built by the film during the first two thirds.
More disturbing is when a twist in Closed Circuit then follow the cliches of government versus
the individual who has been frequently raised in similar films. In other words,
outside the new premise Closed Circuit failed to bring something new in the
delivery of the story. Nevertheless I quite like the cinematography of Adriano
Goldman is often panned by CCTV standpoint, as if giving the sensation of big
brother.
