Artist Greta
Gerwig and director Noah Baumbach has ever collaborated several times and often
cooperation of both gaining praise of critics. Frances Ha is the latest
collaboration of the two, when the two are now dating each other. Collaboration
both are thorough in this movie. Baumbach become a director while Gerwig be the
main artist at the same scriptwriter. Many critics praise here and there,
whether Frances Ha is the best work of these two beings?Frances and Sophie are two best friends who share everything. They are so familiar to the early-first I even thought that if both lesbians. Just imagine, Frances refused to move home with his girlfriend because he wants to stay with Sophie's roommate. Dependence Frances Sophie backfire when Sophie decides to move to another apartment and pursue her own dreams. Frances confusion in determining the course of his life and career so far also no certainty (he is a dancer who has not managed to break down the main stage).
Sophie Frances
jealousy against rampant when I heard that Sophie has a boyfriend, move forward
with his life, then such leave Frances alone by himself. Sometimes it also
makes the relationship the two friends become tenuous. So began the journey to
find meaning Frances in her own life without Sophie in it. Wherever this
adventure will bring Frances and what he could find in this soul searching?
I like to
Frances Ha because I can understand what is perceived by Frances. I remember
two times in the first lecture I ever close once with a friend just to feel our
connection stretchable because he invented with his girlfriend and then
decreases with time. It is an emotion that sense-it's not men do not like women
who have never experienced it. But Frances Ha appeared as a film that is not so
slick as he just lifted it but also raised anxiety in the face of a person's
life.Please visit here
In this film
Frances aged 27 years and are very reasonable for someone who has not been
established at that age to worry about the future. Frances was so but he did
not show it. Instead he ran away from the fact that the fun today with Sophie.
For Frances Sophie is not just a friend but also a place to share just to
forget all the problems of life. Woe for Frances that although Sophie felt the
same way, he does not lose focus to keep pursuing her future.
This film has
become a showcase for Greta Gerwig show her acting skills. I know first Gerwig
in Arthur as 'the girl who is similar to Helen Slater' and since then I've
liked him. However, a new appearance in the film is what makes me really like
the acting. Appearances Gerwig is a mixture of sweet and dorky makes me think
of the character Zooey Deschanel sitcom New Girl. The difference is that unlike
her character Jess too 'sitcom', Gerwig Frances showing her as a sweet dork at
the same time realistic. That's what makes it seems easy to fall in love with
Frances: she's such a real girl next door.
The only my
complaints to Frances Ha is a style Baumbach, who directed the film entirely
with a palette of black and white movie style relic. I feel that this film
could be alive if only Baumbach want to combine black and white and color
palette. Why not use a color to describe the mood when Frances is flowering
with Sophie then black and white to depict solitude for example? When
contrasted so it not going to help the audience better understand and explore
feelings of Frances? I also do not see any reason why this movie should be
filmed entirely in black and white.
So my conclusion
is ... in a broadcast hour 86 minutes Frances Ha has a pacing that moves from
one scene to another is rushed but was never in a hurry. For those who want the
movie coming to age relaxing with the main protagonists are likable figure,
Frances Ha worth a try, do not mean it really slick.
