Who are the two most popular boxers in the era
1970-1980. First, the answer is
definitely Rocky Balboa and Jake LaMotta. Of course the two are actually
different. Rocky Balboa is a fictional character created by Sylvester Stallone
from which later became the most famous role of her career as well be the best
film at the 1976 Academy Awards event last. On the other side was a boxer Jake
LaMotta real biography that movie, Raging Bull, played it so slick and iconic
by Robert De Niro that led to the actor's Oscar (it was the second and last
Oscar time for Robert De Niro). When the film was announced the Grudge Match is quite shocked with her. What would happen if two people frail grandfather (De Niro was aged 70 years while Stallone was already 67 years old) collided boxing? Balboa vs. LaMotta! Grudge Match referred to as a boxing arena dreams to look forward to by many people for over 30 years! Ah, but of course they are not here as a second character. In Grudge Match Stallone role as Henry "Razor" Sharp and De Niro role as Billy "The Kid" McDonnen. They are the best boxer in the first era and share the numbers 1 - 1 Kid beat Razor in the first game while Razor revenge in the second game. But before the third game to complete all Razor suddenly implemented declared his retirement from boxing. They never became friends after that because Kid always felt his chance to prove once and for all, who's the best robbed by Razor.
Time passed
until both are now becoming frail grandfather (although still fit) with their
respective lives. The Kid is much more successful in life while Razor is not
how successful, must work furiously to an adequate life. After an entertainment
show reminds audiences on both rivalry, both The Kid and Razor want sponsored
entry into the video game. When performance capture will be even struggling
both beat each other and filmed enter Youtube. It encourages the interest of
the audience sees both grandfather was once again compete in the ring. Razor
Although initially reluctant, eventually in order to help his financial
condition he was forced to do so. Who will win in this rematch? Please visit here
Hearing the name
Peter Segal as director of this film made me wonder. Segal? Did not he is a
director who is more experienced in comedy rather than serious drama? Imagine
my surprise when it turned out to watch Grudge Match genre is comedy rather
than drama. Ekspektasiku (well most people) is certainly reasonable for Raging
Bull and Rocky did not mind because it makes us laugh the laugh. Unfortunately
both De Niro and Stallone never one hundred percent comfortable in their roles
cute here. De Niro actually perform better, probably because she has appeared
in several comedy films before this, but Stallone feels crisp in appearance.
This film is
lucky to have Kevin Hart and Alan Arkin as the two figures support can always
steal the spotlight every time they appear. This is the first time I saw Kevin
Hart even had heard about his success via Ride Along and About Last Night, and
she was able to shake the stomach. Every time Hart Grudge Match appears on the
screen into the stomach churning spectacle funny and every time he was not
there at the movie screen becomes more tedious. Alan Arkin, previously also a
supporting actor in Argo, here performed reminds me of Mickey Goldmill, Rocky
coach. As the audience Rocky (I unfortunately have not watched Raging Bull) I
realize there are some scenes here, especially in the training montage and
scenes of meat in the freezer which is homage in legendary boxing movie.
Unfortunately the other two veteran actors: Kim Basinger and Jon Bernthal here
also appear flat so Stallone and De Niro relationship with her chemistry they
lack.
Segal seems less experienced in
working on the boxing scene so well that when the fight in the Grudge Match
finally done mostly occurs rapidly and does not reflect that this is a battle
of Balboa and LaMotta. Resolution is too fast without high-intensity fighting
between the two fighters was to make the audience feel bland. I admit that the
Grudge Match is worth giving the spotlight to the two main characters, almost
like a highlight Rush Hunt and Lauda. The difference in Rush when I was hard to
choose who I want to win between Hunt and Lauda as emotionally attached to both
the Grudge Match ... I do not care who will win between The Kid and Razor.
So my conclusion is ... for those
who have been waiting for the movie Grudge Match became the spiritual successor
to Rocky and Raging Bull will be disappointed with this film. For those who are
looking for a competent comedy is still much better choice. This movie is not a
knock-out.
