The Raid 2 : Berandal

Continuing from the previous film, The Raid 2: thug still tells the story of Rama (Iko Uwais) who after the invasion mission in the previous series was then asked by Bunawar (Cok Simbara) to enter the world of mafia and crime led Wake (Tio Pakusadewo) by approaching her Uco (Arifin Putra).
review:
After watching The Raid, Gareth Evans and then know to make a sequel, I was fair to wonder: what else can ya Gareth Evans? Gareth Evans knows this very well. My question ditanyain certainly also by some contrived public gawking when watching The Raid. The Raid is a massive success for an Indonesian film, not only shook the world of Indonesian films previously so-so only, but in the international arena The Raid became one of the films to be reckoned with (hell yeah, on Rotten Tomatoes scored both fresh Raid above 80% !! Film Indonesia could enter this web aja uda is an achievement, let alone to be scored so well). The sequel to a movie that is so successful there are only 2 types: a successful and which suck. There is such a large load to be able to make a film that could be better than the previous film, but apparently arguably: Gareth Evans nailed it.
Gareth Evans is arguably the step up his game. The Raid 2 is a much more glamorous performances when compared with the previous films. If there is a grumble, grumble Raid contents suicide-murder charge, then in The Raid Gareth Evans 2 displays these stories and more conflict mbulet aka more complex. More complex groove is slightly confusing, especially for me the habit of reading subtitles so ga too nyimak existing conversation, but The Raid 2 is still fairly easy to follow - without making this film was utter. There are more characters in this film, with the background character more awakened. The number of characters is indeed cause some sub-plot that does important and one of the weaknesses of The Raid 2.
Talk about the antagonist, villain ever, Tama (Ray Sahetapy) is replaced by the figure of Uco (Arifin Putra) extraordinary handsome (* and hot. Hhhuuff, fans *). Tama figure is even more creepy and one of the tensions that exist in the lives of the film The Raid, but Arifin Putra itself capable of bringing a character with so brengseknya Uco - particularly because his character is not one-dimensional. I saw a bit of stuttering in acting Arifin Putra in the beginning, but over time his acting more and jerk (read: the better) as a traitor and a psycho. The next Villain Build (Tio Pakusadewo) featuring the evil aura that is different than Ray Sahetapy, with aura cooler, quieter, and looks normal - but actually more bastard.
For you who kepengen Yayan Ruhian cursing again, who previously played as Mad Dog, you can treat your longing for Yayan Ruhian rise again as a different character - the face and hair is much messier than before. Meanwhile, as a replacement for the character Mad-dog, Gareth Evans has prepared gag bear-bear three characters at once - with his lethal weapon, respectively, which is a men Bejo (Alex Abbad): The Assassin (Cecelia Arif Rahman), Baseball Bat Man (Very Tri Yulisman), and Hammer Girl (Julie Estelle). The third character is definitely more rock in the beat up innocent extras-extras (especially Baseball Bat Man that really messed up, and look behind cutenya obviously attractive hoodie estrogen me: p). The men also instantly cheered when Gareth Evans eventually incorporate fresh treats: sexy female character who unfortunately sadokis, Hammer Girl. Julie Estelle rocks it. Unfortunately the character of the killer is not too dieskpos deeper, so it seems important ga-'s important.
One of the most glaringly obvious is how Gareth Evans and his team, especially the cinematographer Matt Flannery and Dimas Imam Subhono, is much more developed in the process and build the setting and cinematography propettinya. Cinematography Raid 2 is so cool, artistic, with a touch tone look masculine. There is an aura of retro in a few scenes, and some of the fight scenes may remind Tarantino style. Indeed, Gareth Evans in realizing its ambitious cinematography is "too pretty" produce factual error that was not logical when the pedenya Evans brings the snow in the middle of Jakarta just for the sake of seeing blood on the white snow. This incoherence becomes a sort of "flaw" that makes people protest - ga when snow is essential at all. Not only because of the snow could fall in Jakarta, but if Jakarta can fit snow scene snowy why it talaga. Not only controversy snow, but when seen from the eyes of "authenticity Indonesia", there are some scenes that feel cool and quasi-redundant (eg policemen in jail) - and yes weve yet from the outset, the concept of "mafia" also felt it was too Hollywood .. But in my opinion, we should see The Raid 2 as a full entertaining movie - and if you managed to rule out non-crucial things that, you will pleased with so many awesomeness.
Well, now when it comes to at-blow, Gareth Evans obviously not want to just beat-style beatings Raid again - ditambahlah much more bombastic scenes and sadistic. The most fun scenes of cars on the highway with the city setting of the original (Yeah, busway terminals are made to fall apart), so that makes you chuckle in awe of the production process. This is definitely a big step for the world of Indonesian cinema. Less-bomb scene Boman hell wrote actually. If you want to see a lot of blood, Gareth Evans still spoiled with splattered blood and the level of chaotic and sadistic pain - but remain in touch of the cool cinematography. Unfortunately, the epic fight scene between Mad-Dog and Rama is already not happen (I still remember clearly how the cinema applauded after Mad Dog finally fell down) - but the epic scene between Rama and The Assassin arguably quite entertaining, especially with pure style martial arts are so thick and kerambit senjara the Assassin. So damn cool. Although arguably yes, this whole fight scene makes you think that the character of Rama is a really lucky guy - who just happens to the main character in an action movie.
Iko Uwais is clearly undergoing maturation acting, although I feel that his character somehow does not get too attached to the head. I myself do not feel emotionally attached to the character, this is different from the previous films. Perhaps because I was busy interested antagonist characters are more prominent. I think it should be more a lot more moments can be dramatized, and the character of Rama as a less expressive robot character.
Overview:

Once again I should say that Gareth Evans really know how to step up the game. After what he had done in the first film, Gareth Evans raise the quality of everything, especially in terms of story and cinematography. The Raid 2 is a glamorous show action movie that could easily make me fall in love (though I do not like action movies). Although still just so many elements that are too Hollywood, but Evans was able to assemble the elements Indonesiaan so well. But if in the end I was forced to choose, which is better Raid first or second? Hmmmm ... I have a better answer is Raid 1 Why? Actually, since the problem first experience wrote. However, as a sequel, The Raid 2 will not disappoint. For those of you who say that The Raid 2 is a bad movie, oh no, just hope I do not pray Hammer Girl comes to hit you with a hammer
