When Percy
Jackson franchise first launched in 2010 and 20th Century Fox desperately to
promote it as the next Harry Potter even wearing the slogan "From the
director of Harry Potter" remember Chris Columbus who work on it. Yet the
film is not how success at the box office and its revenue overseas is not too
large. I wonder what's on the minds of the 20th Century Fox executive that gave
the green light for a sequel. Maybe once they feel that the Percy Jackson novels
that continue to increase every year adds to the fanbase is the son of
Poseidon.
Percy Jackson
has saved the world once the face of Luke Castellan in Percy Jackson and the
Lightning Thief. Success is unfortunately not followed by other successes. The
name Percy slowly sinking in the success of Clarisse who is the daughter of the
god of war Ares. Increasingly making Percy is sad and humiliated his father who
no longer contacted him and even 'rewarded him' with a strange brother Tyson -
a Cyclops. When Thalia tree that had been protecting Camp Half-Blood where
Percy and his friends settled suddenly weakened Percy realized that something
was wrong.
Sure enough, the
tree seems to have been poisoned and made a magical fortress that has been
protect Camp Half-Blood weakened. To restore the power of the castle both her
best friend Percy and Annabeth and Grover had to go to the ocean adventure
that is very dangerous because it contains the monsters. Humans know him as:
Bermuda triangle. What would Percy find there will not only be related to the
safety of Camp Half-Blood alone but also worldwide safety Greek god!
Although I love
the Percy Jackson story in my novel was how enthusiastic the Percy Jackson and
the Sea of Monsters. There are two reasons why I feel this way. The first is
the distance between sequel that too much was already messed up life cast of
the film. Logan Lerman, Brandon Jackson, and Alexandra Daddario it was already
too old for the role as a teenager again. Alexandra Daddario 27-year-old Brandon
Jackson while almost stepping on the head instead of three! If there will be a
new sequel worked two to three years longer if they still deserve to play it?
Was acting from the three main characters feels mediocre. Not bad for a
children's movie but certainly far from the trio of Harry - Ron - Hermione in

The second
reason why I am not looking forward to how this movie is because of the story
in the Sea of Monsters is the weakest of the whole saga Percy Jackson. Of the
five books that I follow Sea of Monsters is the story of the most tedious,
long-winded and lack primary focus. This is also reflected in how the film is
not interesting. The only savior of the film is actually the director Thor
Freudenthal courage incorporate elements common thread that is not displayed by
Chris Columbus in the first film. What is it? So no spoilers just call this
movie finally shows who's the big bad guy Voldemort his alias this saga.
Overall the
movie Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters also has too many flaws and plot
holes here and there. From the novel by Rick Riordan is also sometimes take a
shortcut to explain the plot. It did not matter because in the novel the
imagination of the audience is the limit. This is certainly different when
displayed on the screen when the audience's imagination is limited to what he
was watching on the screen. As a result the details so striking looks make the
audience wonder about the actions the characters on the big screen.
