Blue Velvet

So far I had just watched a film by David Lynch, the director known for stylish surealisnya (aka absurd-ambiguous guaranteed to make the audience confused), ie, The Elephant Man (1980). Comparing The Elephant Man Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man is much lighter, humanist and normal, although shades of black and white is definitely not too modern for me who used to watch a color film. (* Read a review of The Elephant Man here). Blue Velvet is obviously more absurd, enigmatic and philosophical. According to the critics, Blue Velvet is one of the best works of seorangcreative-master David Lynch, besides Eraserhead (1977) and Mulholland Drive (2001). Thanks to Blue Velvet, Lynch gained his second Oscar-nominated The Elephant Man. (FYI, David Lynch has been nominated for an Oscar six times without ever winning)
Previously there was a little story about how unimportant I watched Blue Velvet. I watched it in the Thrill, a horror movie special channel on cable TV that is paid. You could say watching Blue Velvet in Thrill Thrill is a fatal error due to the rough and careless cut the whole scene is important in this film. The film is already obvious gag is even more unclear and lope for editing the own wishes. Yes, I do not blame Thrill entirely due to sexual material and violence in this film had to be censored for a general audience, but editing it would eliminate the essential essence of the film itself. So then I must watch the censored-scenes on youtube.

Blue Velvet is about the satire and irony, describe the normal world that seems fine in a small town that is safe and sound ~ but actually save the terrible mystery. This is in accordance with the quotes that some times it is said in the film: "It's a strange world,". Through the journey of a young detective pretended false bravado Beumont Jeffrey (Kyle McLachlan) is about to satisfy her curiosity due to the discovery of a piece of ear in a meadow, Blue Velvet brings us to the dark world that we never thought before: the story sadokis-masochistic, oedipus complex , kidnapping, violence and drug abuse.
Blue Velvet is a neo-noir thriller and successful makes you feel the same tension as perceived by Jeffrey leaders, through the eyes peeking from the cracks of the closet when Dorothy tortured by Frank. Scene was so disturbing to watch, and hard not to feel haunted by the sound of Frank Booth who suck the breath mask-odd drug. Please enjoy this blue vervet
Another scene is hard to forget the scene does not make sense with the song In Dreams of Ray Orbinson as backsoundnya (FYI, this song named Frank Candy Colored Clown). The first is a scene where Ben, Frank criminal partner Dorothy is holding a child. Ben singing lip sync the song In Dreams, accompanied by Frank's men were half drunk dancing on the sofa, and Frank dissolve in grief before then turns into anger. The second scene is the scene where Frank beat Jeffrey, with the same song played through the car tape, and a woman dancing is not clear at the top of the car. In Dreams song is a beautiful song if you listen, but combine it with scenes opposite of it all makes you stuck on an odd atmosphere.
Actually, Blue Velvet is not a fuckin awesome movie with a twist at the ending, the story itself is actually running quite linear. It did make this movie a glance looks so simple because you do not have to ask-tanyawho is the really bad guy in the movie. But in the hands of David Lynch, Blue Velvet is a masterpiece filled with philosophical elements of interest. A cult movie is after watching movies if you still want to talk and reveal the crazy ideas that want disclosed the director and script writer, and that's what happened to Blue Velvet. (Another example I think the cult movie: American Psycho. Read the review here).
Eccentricity belongs to Dennis Hopper who plays Frank Booth, and to successfully convince him to make you feel sad seeing the inhuman atrocities committed to Dorothy Frank. Frank the Oedipus Complex as well sadokis, and almost the entire phrase is never uttered a harsh word inserted. Please enjoy this  But interestingly ambiguous is the protagonist in this film, the character Jeffrey Beaumont and Dorothy Vallens yangsomehow can engage in sensual sadokis-masochistic relationship that is absurd. This apparently is the uncertainty of the gray area that wish to be on the protagonist Lynch who apparently also has animal instinct / humanist dark anyway.
There is another interesting philosophy that I read about Blue Velvet correlation with voyeurism or "peek pleasure". I read through the blogs that I found when googling (click here). Essentially the story of Blue Velvet growing due kengintahuan great sense of Jeffrey Beaumont, who actually desires of curiosity it does not give any impact on his life, other than he was just curious. Curiosity is what ultimately made him hiding in a closet Dorothy, Dorothy peek at how strange sexual intercourse with Frank ~ where the scene is so thrilling but also makes the same curiosity. So it does not matter how often Frank shouted "Do not you fucking look at me !!", you're not much different from Jeffrey who was watching with mixed feelings (cringe at once curious).
Activity peek, sounds simple and (yeah) pervert, but apparently the store philosophy and menarik.Mengutip the blogs that I read, Jean Paul Sartre had expressed the philosophy that less is more referring padanatural settings. He said, if someone was in the room alone, then he is free to do whatever he wants. He is independent. However, when the person knows he spied through the keyhole, then as soon as he turned. He turned into someone who "wants to do" by people who peek. The interaction that occurs in 2 is a two-way relationship that objectify each other. But a peek at the activity, the relationship is unidirectional relationship, where the workman-peek into the object does not need to act like dimaui by the spy. And this is a social phenomenon that often hit us, or now more commonly called "of police". Who today does not like "ngepoin" social media pages of others, and quietly judge the heart? Gossip show so popular, because we are free to determine the privacy of others ~ no need to worry about the privacy of our own known to others. And who would have thought this profound philosophy there in lowly activities sorts peek? Regarding why the ear invented by Jeffrey (not the eyes, or other body parts), I think it is a symbol of connection with activities that are not much different to peek, that is eavesdropping.
In the final section, where Jeffrey was relaxing in his backyard, as if to imply that all the scary events that happened before was just a dream-a dream, for me is a contradiction of real life. I can catch: knowing and experiencing life events are much different from everyday life as if like a nightmare, but that does not mean it is not real and does not exist. Irony and contradiction Lynch was also presented at the end of the film where Lynch featuring footage sights suburbs safe and secure - which is looping from the beginning of the film - as if to convey that a bad life could also exist on the edge of town life peace.
Overview:

Blue Velvet is a masterpiece from the genius-director like David Lynch. It's an awesome classic and cult movie, both in terms of Blue Velvet as a genre film noir / thriller, and understand Blue Velvet as a unique work of art and philosophical ~ although the plot is running so simple and tend to be boring. Powered by the appearance of Dennis Hopper is sooo disturbing, Blue Velvet is one of the masterpieces of cinema that must you watch.
