There are three
new movies playing this week in the United States with the aim of lowering the
Captain America: The Winter Soldier from the first rank. They all failed. Only
Rio 2 are approaching the revenue from the captain. Income of 39 Million USD
from Rio 2 is almost the same as the first film which indicates that total
revenue had not increased from the first film (about 140-150 million USD). It's
not a bad result for Blue Sky Studios, which has not had a franchise in
addition to the Ice Age. With the success of the Rio 2 in foreign countries,
such as Blue Sky Studios ordain that they are the king of animated films
internationally.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier decreased standard for superhero movies and add to the coffers of revenue to 160 million USD. Oculus and Draft
Day, two minor films that emerged this week as supposedly less successful at
the box office. Oculus slightly more successful than the Draft Day because the
audience already crave horror movies since not getting anything for last
two-three months. On the other hand Draft Day continuing a negative trend of
Kevin Costner's return to the box office. Recorded after the Man of Steel next
three films: Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 3 Days to Kill, and Draft Day all
failed miserably at the box office. Who says people are still waiting for him?
The film could
not penetrate Noah threatened 100 Million USD in the local arena after the
revenue continues to erode from week to week. Paramount should add more
promotion for the upcoming Easter week so the film is able boosting income.
If that fails then the film Noah really have to rely on the ground of its
revenue internationally. So far it's not good because Noah squeezed storm of
Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Rio 2 is a super success overseas.
Total of 300-350 million USD worldwide still in achievement but this is
certainly far from the expected success of Paramount.
Unfortunate fate
suffered by Muppets Most Wanted and Mr. Peabody & Sherman. After earning

not last long at the box office. Speaking of other animations, Frozen finally
passed Skyfall to sit in 8th place grossing films of all time. The last record
