Among the novel
The Hunger Games trilogy, Suzanne Collins's work I most like to Catching Fire:
second novel. Whereas in a trilogy is usually regarded as an intermediate
chapter weakest chapter: he no longer has a fresh element of the first book and
the climax scenes are usually kept for his latest book, making book (or part)
of a second story that is not usually like splinter has a clear beginning and
end. Suzanne Collins managed to avoid all the weaknesses that by incorporating
a lot of new elements in the Catching Fire, and the escalation of tension so
that the second book to be much more superior than the first book that are just
like a normal game due to survival.

After successfully refine Gary Ross The Hunger Games and bring it into a
box-office hit that crazy (in excess of Harry Potter and Twilight ... who would
have thought?), Francis Lawrence can continue in his footsteps? The future of
this franchise in his hands because practically Francis Lawrence has been
contracted to work on the series until the final two films Mockingjay later in
2014 and 2015.
Katniss Everdeen
is still having nightmares from the experience of the event that happened first
in survival The Hunger Games. All privacy once he can now gone and Katniss have
to go in the Victory Tour, a parade around district by district to meet with
their fans. It is certainly a new thing for Katniss and Peeta as they have to
come to the districts which they kill in the competition participants. Is not
realized by both the love story of Peeta and Katniss, and Katniss courage
against the Capitol, slowly but surely have sparked the embers of revolution.
One by one
district of a rebellion against the tyranny of the Capitol that President Snow
comes and asks Katniss to do a 'disguise' romance with Peeta as well. He wants
Katniss and Peeta extinguish the revolution - something that is ultimately not
very successfully done by both. In the end President Snow aided by his new aide

Quarter Quell
Hunger Games is a special edition. Every 25 years there is a special rule in
the Hunger Games were created to make the event more difficult to survive. In
the second Quarter Quell 25 years ago, for example instead of two participants
were drawn from the district but four participants. Now for the rules of this
third Quarter Quell Plutarch states that participants simply come from the
winners of The Hunger Games before. This is a heavy blow to Katniss who is the
only winner of the district. Does Katniss survive this time or luck finally run
out?
As I said at the
beginning of the reviews before Catching Fire danger increases tension and
stakes and Francis Lawrence brought it to the screen perfectly. During the
running time of this film is closer to two and a half hours she did not waste a
single scene for the rambling. Every scene there to push the story forward:
from Victory Tour that showed the audience how other districts are fed
suppressed until the battle Quarter Quell more innovative and exciting than
ever before.
For old actors
back here all perfectly play their roles. Of course Jennifer Lawrence as
Katniss Everdeen brilliant. Katniss is a much more complex figure than, say
Bella from Twilight, and Jennifer Lawrence displays his best game to make us
sympathize with him. Elements of the love triangle is still shown here but many
downgraded to political elements and other more friendship displayed here. As
two love interest of Katniss and Peeta more appearances Hutcherson shows his
acting ability, especially in the scenes when the Victory Tour. Liam Hemsworth
again did not get much chance to act, something that may be rectified in the
third and fourth films later.
Both Woody
Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and did not want to lose just by a
trio of young people who become the main attraction in this film and completely
revive the characters they play. After all, I'm really most interested in
Donald Sutherland here. Total appearance as President Snow makes it difficult
to not hate him. He is the true antagonist for Katniss and I am so looking
forward how they start their final confrontation in Mockingjay later.
What about the
new characters that were presented? Two steals my attention: Patrick Seymour
Hoffman and Sam Claflin. Hoffman appearances course undisputedly where the
character actor's role in peace and bring the full calculation, make it hard to
guess what's on his mind. On the other hand Sam Claflin in the beginning looks
like a playboy alone but when the game really starts shows original character.
Outside the two are actually still there are some other characters that appear
again but could not steal the spotlight from the old cast like this both.
The success of
Francis Lawrence picked up Catching Fire notch better than The Hunger Games is
because it can capture the emotional moments of the book in full. In the first
movie I was somewhat disappointed to see Gary Ross fails to capture the
emotional buffeting when replacing Prim Katniss Hunger Games as a participant.
Lawrence pay in full all the errors. In the book there are three scenes are
touching and striking me and Lawrence bring it to the big screen without losing
its essence. Coupled with the shaky cam effect is eliminated Catching Fire may
seem less gritty and realistic style of its predecessor but is more easy to
follow and fun.
