In America there
are several of the most famous holiday: Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and of
course ... Thanksgiving. Unlike Halloween, Christmas, and Easter are also
celebrated massively in other parts of the world, Thanksgiving is a great
holiday there just in America alone. The reason of course, because Thanksgiving
is closely related to the history of America itself: signifies the peace
between the settlers and the Indians tribes that previously continued to fight
(it's very simple version only time).But there is one race of animals that should have been very sad with this: who else if not the turkey (turkey). The turkeys this time of year only fattened for slaughter as many brutally during Thanksgiving. Why should I say? That's because it's the turkey beast idiot. They even love the man and felt that the man continues to nurture and feed them - without realizing that the man was actually fat them so that they can be eaten. The only one who realizes this is a cunning man named Reggie turkey. Reggie tried to commemorate his friends but none of them listen to him.
Ironically when
the Thanksgiving almost here instead Reggie chosen by the President to be
forgiven. In other words, Reggie does not need to be cut and butchered it be a
pet of the President. This new position makes Reggie delirious and every day he
lives to have fun while eating Pizza. Reggie heaven but falls apart when he is
kidnapped by a crazy turkey named Jake. Along with Jake, Reggie is forced to go
into the past and change the future: removing turkey from Thanksgiving menu.Please visit here
This movie
actually has an interesting potential as it involves time travel. Previous
animated film I can recall involving this is Meet the Robinsons and I really
liked the animated film. It's unfortunate that it turned out Free Birds do not
have the capacity to arouse the emotions of the Disney movie style. Instead of
using time travel to explore the potential of a more creative story Free Birds
wearing an old recipe from the movie Dances with Wolves and Avatar to make turkey as a nation
oppressed nations (the symbolism of the Indians both from the face of the
turkey to their way of life though) against the oppression of the white (the
human). Which is more disappointing is the concept of time travel in this movie
turned out to have plot holes and elements that have just entered but not
excavated at all ... wait till you know what the true meaning of the sacred
door knob! I actually already realized with a twist since the beginning but I
hope will be surprised by this animated movie. I am not surprised.
One other theme
where the turkeys want to change the fate of food has also been raised in the
animated Chicken Run and Free Birds fail once again the theme of 'change
destiny' with the incorporation of the idea of 'outcast' in the movie Chicken
Run . In fact I am confused with Reggie. How does it know if the turkey evil
man never explained to them, make Reggie appears more because the plot rather
than a stand-alone character.
Seeing all these
drawbacks it looks like I do not like the Free Birds but instead I actually
still can enjoy with a little animation of this Relativity Media release. Some
slapstick humor offered as competition between Jake and Ranger enough to make
me smile while geek and pop culture references from the STEVE voiced by George
Takei able to shuffle my stomach. Moreover Hayward is an experienced animation
director so he could steer his team in the film CG animated graphics quality is
good enough (at least for the animated movie not filmed major studios).
So my conclusion
is ... Free Birds could actually perform better with a combination of themes
that he lift. However, this film was only performed safely with slapstick
humor, the characters are forgettable, until the moral message that less
educated (in order to save themselves, just sacrifice other people).
Entertaining but quickly forgotten.
