The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Now You See Me is not the first film in 2013 with the theme of magic. Before the film, starring multi-star of The Incredible Burt was there Wonderstone which is a magic-themed movie but taking the style of comedy in a statement. This film was predicted by the observer can generate huge profits for starring two famous comedians star Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. The last time the two met in the live-action film is Bruce Almighty - one of the most successful comedies of all time. Yet more decade has passed since then and Carell and Carrey is no longer as popular as they once were themselves. The Incredible Burt Wonderstone film failed miserably in the market both domestically and abroad, to make people question the ability of these two comedians capture the audience. Is this one of the two or indeed the film does not have a competent script?

Burt Young is a child who is always bullied and pushed around by his friends. In order to get the popularity he later studied magic. The director Don Scardino even take a shortcut to jump ten years into the future at the beginning of the film when the film will be more effective if it shows through short scenes / montage of how the relationship between Burt and Anton to worsen over time. Since the jump to ten years suddenly feels like the audience also surprised by the drastic changes Burt nature without ever had to feel sympathetic to him.

But do not trigger the movie as cliché and bad first because in fact the film is actually quite successful cheer. The story is cliche but the actors who play convincingly makes this film was boring. To the surprise of the film is precisely duet duo Steve Carell and Buscemi as Jim Carrey is positioned to emerge only occasionally here and there as a scene stealer. Funny to see the rivalry as both the upside with their first role in Bruce Almighty. Hailed as the scene stealer of the more striking fact aging actor Alan Arkin who was nominated as best actor in films Argo last year and serves as a senior magician here. Olivia Wilde also appear as a competent magician girl beautiful although I rather object to his romantic with Carell that feels ... a little out of place.
