The Call

Careers of Halle Berry could not go anywhere - even retroactively - after playing in X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006. Since the film's release Halle Berry never again make films that can penetrate 100 Million USD even had disappeared from circulation for several years. He did comeback to the film industry with several ensemble roles like New Year's Eve, Cloud Atlas, and Movie 43, but it was not successful. With the diminishing prestige  like this. Will Halle Berry raised the film The Call into a drama thriller story above average?

Very often when watching Hollywood movies and TV series we look at the telephone number 911 is pressed to inform the police about the adverse events that occurred. 911 Indeed, this is already a phone number for emergency events. Jordan Turner is an operator for the 911 channels every day to take care of emergency events ranging from the trivial to the phone like a drunk one serious like a death threat. One time errors made by Jordan when performing instruction resulted in the death of the caller. Once  Jordan  retreated from the field and chose to become a teacher for the generations next 911 operator.
When six months passed fate brought Jordan back on the phone line when a kidnapping occurs and the victim: a teenage girl called Casey Central 911 were in the room when the Jordan operator directly handle calls when the junior has not been able to. While wrestling with the guilt of his past this time Jordan can save the life of the victim? Or another failure prompted him to be really mad this time?
Call this movie The premise is actually not really new. I remember watching it along with two other films. The first of course is its Cellular Chris Evans and Jason Statham. The film does have a premise of a woman who asked for help via telephone. On the other side of the car is constantly moving and the figure is a teenager Casey for help immediately reminds me of Nicolas Cage's Stolen movie which also must save her son who had been locked in the trunk of the car continues to move. The combination of both of these turned out to produce a thriller that is pretty solid throughout the film.
Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin as the two main characters in this film well acted according their respective portions. Berry role here does not need to act more than just sheer panic and upset. Likewise, Abigail Breslin who has now grown into a teenager. This film does not really challenge his acting skills for more than just screaming and fear alone. I'm still waiting for the film that could explore the potential of acting of Breslin, who was one of the most brilliant little first.
The criminals and kidnappers himself, played by Michael Eklund, an actor who is well known in the realm of TV than the big screen. I personally saw him less able to act where appearance pretentious rant and instead feels too odd psychopath and excessive. It is not easy to show the figure of a sadistic villain and cold. Eklund may have to learn more from the legendary criminal figures sorts of Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs or Se7en Kevin Spacey in if you want to act with similar roles in the future.

If there are things I regret from this thriller that is ultimately too cliched and memorable little collided with a realistic tone that gives a chance throughout the film. It seems screenplay written and directed directing Halle Berry wants to get bigger acting role that eventually even become logic holes that disrupt the film. Fortunately that did not last long climax not to spoil the film further. Pacing is rushed from the beginning to the end of the film is also an added value for the film is so rare scenes drawl and less effective.
